Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA) has set to hold a festival of architecture films in Iran.
A lineup of 12 documentary films on the theme of architecture will go on screen during the event titled 'Camera Lucida: The Wandering Film Festival' in 13 cities across the country.
Isfahan, Bandar Anzali, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Rasht, Sari, Shahrud, Qorveh, Qom, Karaj, Kerman, Laar and Mashhad are the cities to host the festival on May 11-16, 2018.
The lineup includes 'Albert Speer, Der Architekt' made by Peter Adler as well as 'Cathedrals of Culture' co-directed by Wim Wenders, Robert Redford, Michael Glawogger, Karim Aïnouz, Margreth Olin and Michael Madsen.
'Citizen Architect: Samuel Mockbee and the Spirit of the Rural Studio' made by Sam Wainwright Douglas, 'Concrete Love - The Böhm Family' directed by Maurizius Staerkle-Drux, and 'Ecumenopolis: City without Limits' made by Imre Azem are also in the lineup.
The list goes on with 'Lost Town' by Jörg Adolph, 'My Father the Genius' by Lucia Small, 'The Chinese Mayor' by Zhou Hao, 'Rebel Architecture' from Al Jazeera media company, 'The Pruitt-Igoe Myth' by Chad Freidrichs, and 'Utopia London' by Tom Cordell.
TMCA is among the largest art museums in Iran. It has collections of more than 3000 items that include 19th and 20th century's world-class European and American paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures.
TMCA also has one of the greatest collections of Iranian modern and contemporary art. It frequently holds different cultural programs here and there.
